The dimensions and fascia are vaguely familiarly largely due to the EQC basing itself on the architecture used in the existing GLC model. Power comes from an 80kWh battery, with an electric motor at each axle. This set-up brings a useful total output of 408hp, but more significantly there’s a huge 760Nm of torque instantly available from the first press of the accelerator. Despite weighing in at almost two-and-a-half-tonnes, the EQC is capable of 0-100k m/h in 5.1 seconds.
Inside, the cabin of the EQC shares much with the GLC, with the latest dual-screen infotainment and digital dial displays. The redesigned air-vents, copper-coloured accents and a decorative panel of louvred lines running behind the dash are unique to the EQC. This Premium Plus variant adds a sliding sunroof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration among a host of other tech enhancements.
